WP/Hiding reply box

Aug 4, 2012 by mike231
Hi all
I am using 2011 theme with WP 3.1.4. I added the below line to the loop to display some comments on the display on the index page;

<?php $withcomments = "1"; comments_template(); /* wpcomments.php template */ ?>

Now I want to  hide the reply box. I want the comments to be on the reply link, and to be added from the link as well.
If anyone can help me with any advice I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

Don’t edit your  Twenty Eleven theme. First create a child theme for your changes, you can refer to this URL for creating a child theme http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
Then try using a custom comments template file such as;
http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/comments_template
Change
<?php $withcomments = "1"; comments_template(); ?>
To
<?php $withcomments = "1"; comments_template('/frontpage-comments.php'); ?>
From a copy of comments.php, create a frontpage-comments.php and remove this line
<?php comment_form(); ?>
