Wordpress- Table Prefix issue

asked Sep 25, 2012 in Website Builder by MirrorXYZ (1,400 points)
Hi all,
I have just changed hosting ad transferred all my files to my new server. I am using phpMyAdmin  and set it on wordpress installation so that it works with my database prefixed tables. I found a duplication of my  prefixed tables and  when I  rename or remove them some forms stop working. How can I resolve this?
Kindly help me..

Do a fresh install and use back the same prefix.

Try the following steps
1. Upload your files to your new root directory
2.  Using phpmyadmin take your old database backup
3. Using phpmyadmin, import  your database backup to new server
4. Update the wp-config.php with the latest database details
To change your table prefix do the following:
1. After importing the backup, rename your all table's name
2. Change the prefix in  the wp-config.php file.
