WordPress plugin in a sidebar

Oct 16, 2013 by SunFun
Hey all
I added a widget to my WordPres site sidebar and now I want to add the plugin vertical Thumbnail Slider which doesn’t provide a widget on the sidebar? I can’t seem to find out how to do it. The plugin does come with a short code. If anyone knows how to do this please help. Your help is highly appreciated
Thanks and regards

Try to add the shortcode to any texwidget, and add this code to your function.php file
add_filter('widget_text', 'do_shortcode');

You can either install the “Allow Shortcodes in Text Widgets” plugin, or add a custom function file to your theme.

by
Go to Plugins → Add New,    Search for “Allow shortcodes in text widgets” and Install and activate the plugin
or
create a new file called myfunctions.php with the following code
<?php
add_filter('widget_text', 'do_shortcode');
?>
Save the file and upload it via FTP to your web server under wp-content/themes/yourtheme/ocmx/includes/
