WordPress Parse error "URGENT -- PARSE ERROR" modified

Nov 23, 2013 by mike231
While editing my WordPress code (theme-editor.php) from my site’s backend, all of the sudden the screen turned white and I got an error message saying:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in functions.php on line 600.
I have no idea what happened and how to fix this. I also don’t have a backup file for this file. What should I do?
Please help me fix this.

Download a fresh new copy of your theme to your PC
Then copy the file from this new download and use your cPanel or FTP to replace the file theme-editor.php on your server.  Also note that you should create a child theme and edit your filed from there. This is how you create a child theme
