WordPress Error after creating child theme

Feb 13, 2013 by Dan_31
I created a child theme of my current theme (Blaskan theme) and when I activated it I got the below error
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/tpham/public_html/mydomain.com/wp-content/themes/blaskanchild/functions.php on line 1. Now I can no longer login to wordpress. I can't  even view my website . I tried using FTP but that didn’t work either.
Note that I am using host gator as my service provider.
Can anyone help me fix this

I think you forgot the opening php tag since the error is in the first line. Since you are using hostgator, you can fix from your hosting account itself.

Hostgator has a file manager option. You can login to your account at hostgator and then go to cPanel and from there you’ll find file manager. Browse to your site, and locate your theme and function file there.
