What is the future of cloud industry?

asked Jun 17, 2015 in Cloud Hosting by VargheseAbraham (740 points)
Does there still exist an opportunity for new players to enter the cloud industry and run a profitable business? Well, I think that it is already very saturated and it’s very difficult for a new entrant to run it profitably keeping in mind the sky high costs required to set it up. But, contrary to my belief, I came across Nationwide Cloud Connect 2015 https://www.znetlive.com/cloud-connect/ presented by Microsoft and ZNetLive, which claims to provide opportunity to small players to start a successful cloud business. Now, I am confused about it. What are your views?

No idea about that, but still cloud is one of the most advanced server system in present days. Yes, right now its cost is a bit higher than other hosting services like Linux hosting and Windows hosting, but it gives you a ton of features. So this will may become your reason to step into the cloud industries.

Cloud is not so much the future for us. Cloud systems requires maintenance, and is rather complex/costly.

As a hosting company, raid servers are enough if servers are well managed, and finally we can get same availability numbers...
We have multiple daily remote incremental backup to remote servers in case...

Also, if you use cpanel with apache, you can't actually clone servers on 2 distant ones...
