Website goes to index.html instead of WordPress

Dec 4, 2013 by SunFun
Hi all
I have recently  set up ispconfig 3 with my  apache. Instead of my site directing to wordpress it goes to index.html. so If I use http://www.mydomain.com, I get redirected to var/abc/www.mydomain.com/web/folder/index.html . It doesn’t go to the pages that I setup in my WordPress . what is causing this? And how do I fix it?
Please help
Many thanks

Try deleting  the file index.html in your hosting account. (Make sure you make a backup of it before you delete it).  Apache gives order to default files and the index.html is in a higher order than  index.php so it is served for default pages.

Looks like the priority for index.html is  higher than the  priority for index.php.
You can rename the index.html to something like indexold.html. This will make apache look for the index.php and use it instead
