My WordPress footer widget isn’t working

Mar 12, 2013 by DinoGuy
I am having a my widget and  I can’t edit my footer page. I am using a commercial theme (APEX) and when I go to dashboard->appearance->widgets and change the content inside the right side bar, nothing changes anymore. There is a link in the widget that I am trying to change but it’s just not working, it’s like it has no affect. It used to work normally until recently. Does anyone know how to solve this? Please advice
Thank you

Try deactivating all your plugins to see if it resolves your issue. If so, start reactivate them one by one to find the one causing the problem and then look for an alternative for it. If this doesn’t work reset the plugins folder by accessing your site via FTP and change the name on the plugins folder.

Switch to the default theme to see if this is a theme problem. Also make sure the caching is not enabled in your site and clear your browser and site caches
