Magento’s cache settings

Jan 27, 2013 by darkshark
I cant find where the Magento’s cache setting are. Or if it’s a file or a table in the database. I want to disable the cache manually. Any help would be really appreciated
Many thanks
Do you really want to disable cache? I wouldn't. Cache helps to speed up Magento (this CMS is not so fast in fact), and site speed is a very important factor for user and search engines friendliness.
There was a research of Magento cache conducted by Amasty, you can find it at http://blog.amasty.com/amasty-research-how-fast-can-magento-be-with-full-page-cache/.
And here is the extension mentioned in the research http://amasty.com/magento-full-page-cache.html

Login  to your backend, go to menu->system/Cache Management and click on “select all”, then choose the Disable option in the action box, and click submit.

To delete the cach manually  delete all the files inside var/cache folder
and then go to your database table core_cache_option and set the value column to 0
