Importing/Exporting large mysql tables

Feb 2, 2013 by darkshark
I have three tables in mysql database and all my tables are quiet large (more than 200 MB). The problem is that since they are so large  I am not able to import/export them using PhpMyadmin. I already have the database setup on the server and I just need to export the tables without loosing any data. Can anyone please help

If you have root access in your server, you can dump your tables from shell:

for Table1 in `mysql -u root -pmypassword -N -B -e ‘show tables from database_name’`; do echo $Table1; mysqldump database_name $Table1 > database_name_$Table1.gz ; done
