I Can't edit my WordPress homepage

Feb 12, 2013 by DinoGuy
Hello all
I have a weird issue in my a WordPress site. I have created 3 pages and they are all working well. But when I want to edit my home page I just can’t find in the list of All pages. And when I go to www.mydomain.com/home, I get a message saying that this page is not available. Can anyone please give me any insight?
Many thanks

Look like you haven’t created a static page. Go to dashboard -> settings -> and see if it is set to  front page display is set as your latest posts. This means that all new posts will automatically be posted to the blog. There is no specific page for the home as it displays excerpts of your latest posts instead of  a single page.

By default the Home page is the blog page and any new posts will go on this page. However, if you want to have a Static Home page then you have to create a Home page and then add your content and publish it.
For a blog page you have to create a blank page and name it what ever you want and then Go to Settings ->Reading -> select Static Page
for the Front Page select Home
for the Post page Select the blank page you just created
Now save your settings, and you will have a Home page that is static and a blog page that will have all your posts.
