To reset the ColdFusion Admin password in windows do the following:

.Using Remote Desktop Connection, connect to the server.
.Go to Start-> Run -> and type ‘services.msc’ to stop the CloudFusion service.
.Browse to ColdFusion /lib/ directory/ neo-security.xml file
.Edit the file in Notepad. Look for the following lines
‘<var name=""><boolean value="true" /></var>’
.Change the value ‘true’ to ‘false’.
.Save then exit the file.
.Start ColdFusion service from services.msc.
.load the ColdFusion Administrator from a browser.
.Expand the Security option and choose CF Admin Password.
.Check on ‘Use a ColdFusion Administration password’.
.Enter the new password and then click on Submit Changes.
