I'm ready to quit my hosting company, but I don't want to have to change domain names.  Is this possible?  If so, how?
Thank you for your help.

Yes, of course its possible. You simply transfer your domain name to another hosting company.

The issue is that most of the hosting companies will make it extremely difficult to transfer the domain name, while forcing you to stay with them. So you should expect the downtime most likely.

The best way to do this is to transfer your domain today to the reputable domain registrar like Godaddy or eNom, and then point your domain from GoDaddy domain control to another hosting company. That way when in the future you decide to move to another hosting provider again its a click away (just change the name server on the domain) with no downtime.

Hope it helps

Yes, it's possible. If you're quitting your web hosting company then you can transfer all your domain names to another company via "Bulk Domain Transfer" option where you might be given some good deals for bulk transfer :)
You can grab this kind of deal here- https://www.znetlive.com/buy-domains/bulk-transfer/

Yes this is possible,
Steps
First, get the complete database and files as a backup of your current website from current hosting.
Steps for single hosting: Now upload all the files to the new hosting, login to your domain provider account, and go the DNS management option, here you have to add the new DNS (name server) provided from the new hosting provider.  Optional you can add the IP address of the hosting. It may take a minimum of 1 to 2 hours of time to point.
Steps for shared hosting: login to the CPanel and add add-on domain, this will create a folder named your add-on domain in the file manager. Now upload the backup data to the particular folder. Now follow the first process to point the domain to new hosting provider.
* If you have a database then you have to create a database and import the database file, downloaded from the old server using the PHP wizard option available in the cPanel.

Have you domain at a pure registrar is the best strategy, after, you can change host as you wish : just update your DNS or pointing IP from your DNS zone at registrar...

My answer is yes, sure you can keep domain name same. I would to highly recommended to go up with vkare it. by the process of migration they can possible to do it. I was with branded web hosting as a starting hosting company for my web site. i don't want to use name here and was always having down time. i had very bad experienced with them. From their I went to vkare it my site is really up 99% of the time - as compared to being down 40-50% of the time.
The services to get things repaired are quick generally about 15 minutes for me. Many times the tech team already has an issue discovered and is working on it before I contact them! that's really impressive showing that they taking care of their customer needs which i like the most. That's something I didn't get from either of the above service providers.but I get quite a bit of traffic and run a large site so performance and a good tech team is a MUST. If anyone wants a RELIABLE service, go with vkare it you get more service, faster site speed and a great staff to help!

I agree with necser. Always keep your primary domain name separate from the hosting account.
