How to Change the PHP Memory Limit in Drupal

Jul 7, 2013 by DruNew
Hi all
I know that Drupal requires a minimum of 16M PHP memory but I have many modules and I want to increase my Drupal PHP memories before it starts affecting my site’s erformance. I want to increase the PHP memory to 64, to allow my site to function normally even after adding  extra modules. The problem is that I don’t know how to edit the PHP memory in my drupal site. Can anyone please help
Thanks

Look for the file “php.ini”  in the root installation folder then open it and scroll down to the "Memory Resources" part.   Change the below line to your required limit
"memory_limit=16M"
Then save the file and close it.

You can also use the Drupal Tweaks module  and then change the the php memory limit from the configuration
