How can I remove the site name from my Joomla Website header

Nov 23, 2012 by jomnew
My Joomla site is looking good  but my custom Joomla header is still displaying my site`s name. I have tried removing it from the administrative settings in the back-end, but it didn’t work.
How do I remove the site name from my header?
Can anyone please help
Thanks

You can change your Joomla settings preferences not to display the site name. However this will also remove your site’s name from the browser title bar.

1.From your administrator panel Go to Site->Global Configuration and edit the site name to the same name that appears on the browser title bar. Then save it with the ‘display site name’.
2.Go to Extensions ->Template Manager and click on your template. Go to Edit HTML. press CTRL +F and type "sitename" in your search box
5.From the HTML code that appears from your search remove the following snippet from the below the "sitename":
?php echo $GLOBALS['mosConfig_sitename']?
3.Save the changes in your Joomla template HTML code.
