Can I have different SSL certificates for different sub folders?

Nov 26, 2013 by darkshark

I want to have SSL certificates for different sub folders on my server. I have Apache2.2.12  server with one IP with two different domains each pointing to a different subfolder.  So if someone visits my the site with SSL certificate it should be OK, but if they visit the other website without the SSL certificate they would get an error for incorrect certificate. How can I do this without conflicting the two sites?

Can anyone please advice?

Yes it is possible, using SNI support. Check server configuration here http://wiki.apache.org/httpd/NameBasedSSLVHostsWithSNI
in addition to SSL setup  http://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/ssl/ssl_howto.html

you can do this by setting up different names based virtual hosts and specifying different SSL certificates for everyone of them . They should not conflict.
