Enabling ping on my 2008 server

Feb 10, 2014 by Ali
Hi,

I am using windows 2008 server along with the hyper-v. I am using rules on my server’s inbound and outbond’s  . However I am not able to ping any IPs of the actual VM. My VM is configured and runs normally. How can I enable the ping functionality in my server? Can anyone please advise?
Thank you in advance

The network settings might need to be configured in VM, or it could be your hosting provider’s server settings.

try going to Start, and select “ Administrative Tools”. Then choose Windows Firewall with the advanced security-> Inbound Rules -> File and Printer and  right click there to check if it’s enabled or not
