Drupal Redirect to recently visited page on 404 error

Jun 8, 2012 by DruNew
I want to be able to redirect visitors to the recently visited page when they encounter 404 error. I have a website on a Linux shared hosting server, and I use Drupal 7 as my CMS and I’m not sure how to do this in drupal. I would appreciate it if anyone can help me out with this.
Thanks in advanced

Try the CustomError at http://drupal.org/project/customerror,
It will allows the site admin to make custom error pages for 404 without having to create nodes for them.

Instead of redirecting, you can put a link in your 404 page and link it back to the recent page. You can use HTTP_REFERRER for linking it back
