Drupal/ limiting comment visibility

Jan 5, 2013 by DruNew
Hi
I want to limit comment visibility by reader and poster roles. So that if a person with a specific role creates a node, then another person with another role can view and comment on the first person’s post. But I want the first person not to be able to view the comments of the second person on his/her post. I want the first person to be able to see other comments from other persons with different roles.
How can I limit user’s ability to view comments of other users based on the commentors roles?
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated
Thanks

Instead of using comments try creating another node type and then attach it to your original node using a node reference. Then to handle the permissions, you can make use of standard node access modules.
