Drupal Different content block on different pages

asked Apr 24, 2013 in Website Builder by DruNew (1,930 points)

I am using Drupal 7 for my website. I have a menu and sub menus for navigation. There is some empty spaces on the sides of the page, I want to add some blocks with different content for different pages (text etc..) I am not sure if I should have a different block for every page or only one block. Can anyone please help me out on this?

When you create a block, you will have the option "Visibility Settings" at the bottom of your page. First create a block and in the  "Show block on specific pages", enter the page or node id you want to display the block in.

Since you have a menu and sub menus, you can create a content type and  then give it some meaningful URL alias.
for example if you create a content type "our services" set "our-services/[node:title]" url pattern for this content type.
Then create our-services content under the our-services content type.
Now you can create a block, then in visibility settings, add our-services/*
