Deleting Photoshop caches

Hi all..
I am using Photoshop for editing images before loading them to my site. I am no Photoshop expert and I would like some help. How do I delete caches in Photoshop? Can anyone please advice

1.Select "Edit" from the menu and click "Purge." From the options listed choose "Undo." After this action, you will not be able to click Undo to back out of the last step. If this does not help, continue to the next step.
2.Select "Edit" from the menu and click "Purge." From the options listed choose "Clipboard." This action will cause you lose lose the last that you copied to the clipboard unless you have already pasted it in. If the program is still running slow, move onto the next step.
3.Select "Edit" from the menu and click "Purge." From the options listed choose "History." This step is rather drastic, since you will entirely lose the ability to back out of any of the actions you have taken in the document up to this point
