when I ran the command mysqladmin processlist;
I found out that some of my Databases have their status as sleep. What does this mean and how is it affecting my database?
I would really appreciate it if someone can give me any insight on this

the sleep status should not  affect mysql service performance.  However check if you server load problems caused by mysql.

sleep status means that the connection to you database is not currently processing however it is not  free yet. check your code and check if the connection is closing the correctly. This can also be caused my pooling. sleeping processes should not take up your CPU, however if many sleep processes don’t die eventually, your MySQL might run out of  connections.
