Can I use Nginx as a reverse proxy cache?

Sep 23, 2012 by darkshark
Hi,

My website runs Apache and  Nginx. Nginx  deals with the html static files. I have now removed all html static files from my website and now only PHP files exist. This has caused heavy load on my server. Is it possible to put the Nginx as a reverse proxy cache, to cache the php files coming from Apache and deliver them as static. Is this possible? And would it work?
Any advice will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

You can’t turn php files to static files like that. You can try using Nginx with php-fmp. Or you can use Opcode Cacher for you Apache in order to reduce the php files load.
